This page defines the voting system used as default by all Threads in the Frabric network.

Some of these decisions affect who has voting power, and who doesn't - this is done to ensure we continue to comply with regulatory requirements in our operating jurisdictions, and to ensure everyone has a fair stake.

Voting Multipliers

Voting power is an integer value that is calculated by multiplying the amount of tokens owned, by the respective multiplier; this gives you your total voting power; which you can direct towards a particular proposal in either a yes/no vote. The percentage of the total voting power of a Thread is called the Voting Share.

If you haven't yet passed or completed a KYC Authentication process with one of the Fractional Finance Affiliate Authentication partners, your voting multiplier across all threads who utilize the FVS will be 0x. This means that if you vote in any proposal - your voting power will be 0, and your voting share will be 0%.

If you have passed a KYC/AML authentication process with one of the Fractional Finance Affiliate Authentication partners; your voting multiplier across all threads who utilize the FVS will be at least 1x. This means the minimum voting power you have (unless otherwise limited) will be 1:1 with your number of tokens held.

Vote Share Limits

To provide safe investments for minority shareholders in majority controlled Threads, we introduce a voting multiplier decay system. Based on the total number of tokens available in a Thread, if a single token holder owns less or equal to 49% of the token pool, not withstanding any other multipliers they would have 49% of the voting power. However, for a single token holder who owns more than 49%, any additional tokens held will not contribute voting power to the token holder.

Example 1

If you have purchased 10% of the total token pool of Thread XYZ, but have not gone through the necessary KYC/AML process, your voting multiplier will be 0; which means your overall voting power will be 0, and your voting share will be 0%

Example 2

If you have purchased 10% (or 1000) of the total token pool of Thread XYZ, but have you have gone through the necessary KYC/AML process, your voting multiplier will be 1; which means your overall voting power will be 1000, and your voting share will be 10%.

Example 3

If you have purchased 60% of the total token pool of Thread XYZ, and have gone through the KYC/AML approval process, your standard voting multiplier up to 49% is 1; but the extra 19% has a voting multiplier of 0. Total_power = 491 + 190 = 49%.

In short, the maximum voting power percentage that a single tokenholder may have is 49%.
